Brunswick Monument

Before we see Lake Geneva and it’s famous landmark, we’re taking a look at Brunswick Monument. This is quite an impressive monument on the Quai du Mont-Blanc, on the left bank of the lake. It was built in 1873 as a Mausoleum for the Duke of Brunswick, wich was a benefactor for the city of Geneva. He donated his entire fortune to the city in exchange for a monument to be built in his name, as a replica of the tomb of the Scaliger family, that was built in the 14th century in Verona, Italy.
