Yesterday I showed you Castelvecchio and its bridge from the distance. Today, we’re taking a sneak peek inside. Actually this is not the „old castle”, but the entrance to its bridge. As I told you before, Verona was particularly hot that day, and this immense fortress was the perfect place to cool off and learn more about this city incredible history. The castle itself is quite impressive and bears little decorations. This fortification has remained almost intact since it was erected during the Middle Ages, but today it houses a museum with the same name, which features many works of art, including several sculptures from the Romanesque period of Verona.
